Volunteer Opportunities

God’s Kitchen Lunch Service– for individuals or groups.  Monday – Saturday, 10:30 AM – 12:30 PM

A noontime hot meal is served daily at God’s Kitchen in the Heartside Neighborhood of Grand Rapids. Nourishment and meal-time respite are available to anyone who visits the dining room. Guests are welcomed on a walk-in basis with no questions and no qualifiers. Volunteers work together in regularly scheduled groups of up to 10 to assist in meal preparation, set-up, lunch service and clean-up.

Home-Delivered Meals – Monday & Wednesday, 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

Each month volunteers package and deliver over 1,300 meals to home-bound individuals throughout Grand Rapids. These meals are an important part of addressing food insecurity in our community. You can help by becoming a Meals on Wheels Home Delivery Driver.

Baby Pantry – Muskegon or Grand Rapids – Grand Rapids Times – Tuesday & Thursday, 10:30 AM – 12:00 PM
The Muskegon Baby Pantry offers a selection of new and gently used items for infant and toddler care at no cost. Pantry visitors must be able to show documentation that they are the primary parent or custodian for each child needing items from the pantry. Clients can visit the pantry once each month to obtain items for their children. Volunteers help stock and organize the pantry and shop with clients.

Special Events
Catholic Charities West Michigan hosts various activities and fundraisers throughout the year. We need many hands to make these events successful! Our events include Soups On for All!, Raising Hope Dinner, Holy Smokes BBQ Competition, Confident Kids: Back to School Hair Care Event, and various partner agency activities throughout the year.

Host a Bowl Painting Party
Hosting a Bowl Painting Party is a great way to benefit the annual Soup’s On for All! fundraiser that brings awareness to the Food and Pantry programs of Catholic Charities West Michigan. This is all on your own time, for all ages and group sizes. Bowls are $8 to donate, $10 to keep and $18 (one to donate and one to keep).
