Raising Hope (at home)
2021 Event – TBD
Catholic Charities West Michigan’s special Raising Hope (at home) event happened on November 19. Each year, supporters of Catholic Charities West Michigan gather for our Raising Hope Dinner but due to COVID-19, we were unable to gather safely in person this year. However, we were committed to sharing our agency’s success stories and celebrate the work that we do in our communities each day. So this year, we asked the community to join us for our first Raising Hope (at home) virtual event.
The event featured Mark Weber, Catholic Central and Notre Dame alumni, and producer of the award winning documentary Poverty Inc. Mark spoke about how his faith and experience led him to work on Poverty Inc., and how we as a community can unite to help our brothers and sisters rise out of poverty and into prosperity. During the event, we also heard from Bishop Walkowiak and our clients who have been personally affected from the support provided through our programs. And the program ended with a special virtual performance by the Catholic Central High School Choir.
Raising Hope raises funds to support the more than 30 social service programs provided by Catholic Charities and through these programs, CCWM provides help and creates hope for more than 32,000 individuals each year.
With no overhead for the event, 100% of the money raised goes directly to our neighbors in need in West Michigan. To support our programs today, please visit ccwestmi.org/donate.
