Raising Hope (at home)
November 18, 2021
Our second Raising Hope (at home) event, on November 18, will feature keynote speaker Bill Barkeley, a West Michigan native who was the first deaf-blind person to run the Boston Marathon, has climbed Mt. Kilimanjaro, and hiked the 500-mile-long Camino de Santiago pilgrimage (Way of St. James) from France to Spain. The virtual program will also include Bishop Walkowiak, stories from CCWM clients who have been personally affected from the support provided through our programs, and a special performance by the Catholic Central High School Choir.
We heard great feedback about last year’s free virtual program and, due to COVID-19, we decided to host another Raising Hope (at home) event this year. We are committed to sharing our agency’s success stories and celebrate the work that we do in our communities each day. So this year, we ask the community to join us for the virtual event and show your support. There will be a variety of watch parties across Grand Rapids, hosted in the homes of our supporters.
Raising Hope raises funds to support the more than 30 social service programs provided by Catholic Charities and through these programs, CCWM provides help and creates hope for more than 32,000 individuals each year.
With no overhead for the event, 100% of the money raised goes directly to our neighbors in need in West Michigan. To support our programs today, please visit ccwestmi.org/donate.
