Catholic Charities West Michigan works to help individuals facing the challenges of everyday life offering a variety of counseling services in various locations throughout Michigan. Counseling services are available for children, adults, couples, and families. Additional services include substance use treatment, domestic violence counseling/batterers intervention, and sexual abuse prevention.
Our behavioral health services are provided by highly qualified, trained, and licensed professionals. We participate with many insurances, including Medicaid. In some locations, additional funding is available to help cover costs for the uninsured utilizing a sliding fee scale.

Family, Individual, and Children’s Counseling
There are times when each of us needs someone to help us sort out our thoughts and feelings. When families, individuals, and children from West Michigan are looking for help to cope with problems such as anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties, and family relationships, they can find solace in Catholic Charities West Michigan.
Several of our therapists specialize in working with children as they deal with difficult issues by engaging them, in a variety of ways, to help them communicate their feelings. They work with children struggling with ADHD, anxiety, depression, and behavioral issues.

Substance Use Disorder Treatment
When individuals and families in West Michigan are struggling with addiction or dependence on alcohol or drugs, help is available through Catholic Charities West Michigan. Our confidential services are client-centered and strength-based with many funding options.
Treatment options include:

- After Care support
All of our counselors are certified by the State of Michigan and trained to assist the client and family in all steps in recovery. Treatment services for adults are available in our Muskegon and Kent county locations.

Sexual Abuse Prevention Treatment
Catholic Charities of West Michigan currently has a contracts with the Michigan Department of Corrections to provide sexual abuse prevention treatment throughout various locations around Michigan.
Therapists are highly qualified, trained, and licensed professionals.
The goal of this treatment program is to decrease recidivism by assisting clients in understanding their areas of need and risk.

Domestic Violence/Batterers Intervention Counseling
Catholic Charities West Michigan is here to protect families from violence and abuse and provide alternatives to domestic violence. We offer group counseling and batterer intervention services to help individuals learn new, healthy techniques to replace abusive behaviors in Allegan, Barry, Kent, and Muskegon Counties.
