A Community Initiative
A mother in need may be closer than you realize- perhaps in your parish, your community, or your home. Inspired by St. John Paul II’s call to build a culture of life, Walking with Moms in Need works to increase community outreach to pregnant and parenting women facing all sorts of difficulties.
Every need is different for every community. Walking with Moms in Need is an initiative to help you address the needs of young families in your neighborhood. We’re here to work alongside you and your parish as you pioneer your own services tailored to help the parents and children in your community.

Getting Involved
Your community and its needs are unique. Your parish has the special opportunity to tailor services and solutions that fit the needs of your neighborhood.
There is not a one-size-fits-all model to helping families in need. The Walking with Moms in Need initiative recognizes your parish’s unique ability to meet families where they are at, addressing the needs of our communities at a local level.
When in need, a family’s first stop should be the church. Help prepare your parish to meet the needs of parents by getting involved today.
Additional Resources
Walking with Moms in Need is a parish-based outreach program. Support for parishes in their efforts are provided at the diocesan level through the Office of Respect Life and Catholic Charities West Michigan. This support includes:
- Webinars to help guide parishes through the process of integrating this ministry into the life of the church.
- On-going support and resources including trainings, posters, cards, and networking opportunities with other parishes.
